Signal Lost is a performance accompanied by a written text, presented at SPEL State Gallery in Nicosia. Four performers walked a grid for 20 minutes, embodying a gesture echoing a verse by poet Lale Müldür: “…and those who grieve will roam the streets.”
Through a spoken text weaving personal reflections with geopolitical realities, the work meditates on cognitive mapping, the brain's innate function of locating itself in space, and how this capacity is challenged in contexts shaped by displacement, war and technological interference. The performers’ repetitive movements across the grid open a sense of searching for places of memory like childhood homes, ancestral cities or vanished sites.

Signal Lost, yazılı bir metin eşliğinde sunulan bir performanstır. Dört performansçı, şair Lale Müldür’ün “… ve yas tutanlar sokaklarda dolaşacak” dizelerinden hareketle 20 dakika boyunca hayali bir ızgara formu üzerinde gidip gelirler.
Performansa, kişisel yansımaları jeopolitik gerçekliklerle iç içe geçiren bir metnin okunması eşlik eder. Signal Lost, beynin kendini mekânda konumlandırma yetisi olan bilişsel haritalama kavramı üzerine düşünür ve bu kapasitenin, yerinden edilme, savaş ve teknolojik müdahalelerle şekillenmiş bağlamlarda nasıl sınandığını sorgular. Performansçıların ızgara formu boyunca tekrar eden yürüyüşleri, çocukluk evleri, ataların şehirleri veya kaybolmuş mekânlar gibi hafıza mekânlarının izini sürer.
